Chris Miller, the director of In His Grip Ministries, shares his personal story of struggling with addiction to pornography and the impact it had on his relationships. He reflects on his lack of solid discipleship and a deeper understanding of God’s love, which led him to seek false intimacy and make poor choices. Through his journey, he realized the need for support and guidance in finding freedom from addiction.
In His Grip Ministries aims to provide resources and support to help men break free from addiction, restore their marriages, and experience God’s true plan for intimacy. In addition to helping men, In His Grip Ministries also focuses on educating younger generations to avoid similar mistakes and unhealthy perspectives on intimacy. They seek to equip them with the knowledge and tools to navigate relationships in a Godly way, free from the influence of the world’s standards. Furthermore, the ministry strives to support and rescue victims trapped in the pornography industry, offering them grace and a chance to start their Godly journey without condemnation. Through their work, they aim to bring healing, restoration, and freedom to individuals and marriages affected by the devastating impact of pornography addiction.
Peter Hedeen serves as the Chaplain for In His Grip Ministries and is the host of our Monday thru Friday check-in over ZOOM. Pete struggled with being addicted to pornography for over sixty years, after first being exposed to it at age seven. If you are a man who struggles with this addiction, you need to know that you are not alone. You also need to understand that you will never be able to find freedom in isolation. Freedom comes through transparent relationships with other men and rigorous accountability.
Our goal at In His Grip is to make ourselves available to you and to teach you how to overcome what has you bound. We ourselves have found freedom and restoration and are here to walk with you through your own recovery journey. We meet locally in the Pensacola Florida area but also over ZOOM. Call us, and you can start your own recovery today. You no longer have to do life alone.
Check-ins are crucial for individuals struggling with addictions. Consistent check-ins provide accountability and support for maintaining sobriety. They allow individuals to reflect on their progress and identify areas of improvement. Check-ins can also aid in identifying triggers and developing coping strategies to prevent relapse. Additionally, these check-ins can serve as a reminder for individuals to stay focused on their recovery journey and to seek help when needed. Overall, check-ins are an important tool for those in recovery to stay on track and maintain their sobriety.
