Do you struggle with pornography and maybe feel like things are getting out of control?  Is porn starting to take over your life?  Want to quit but find you can’t?

In His Grip Ministries is here to help.  You can stop using porn and get your life back

Welcome to In His Grip Ministries.  We exist to help men recover from sexual addiction, especially to pornography.  The first thing we would say is that your recovery is possible even though things might look pretty hopeless right now.  First let’s see if you really do have a problem with sexual addiction.  Take the sexual addiction screening test (SAST) to get a better understanding of where you stand.

Pornography addiction is characterized by a compulsive and uncontrollable urge to consume pornographic material, despite negative consequences. Here are some key signs and symptoms of pornography addiction:

Excessive Use and Preoccupation

  • Spending excessive amounts of time viewing pornography23
  • Being preoccupied with thoughts about pornography when not using it4
  • Unsuccessful efforts to reduce or stop porn usage24

Negative Impact on Daily Life

  • Neglecting personal or professional responsibilities due to porn use23
  • Continuing porn use despite negative consequences on relationships, work, or finances4
  • Social isolation and withdrawal from regular activities2

Emotional and Psychological Signs

  • Experiencing withdrawal symptoms (irritability, restlessness) when not watching porn2
  • Feelings of shame, guilt, remorse or depression after viewing porn4
  • Distorted perceptions of sexuality and relationships2
  • Decreased sexual satisfaction with real-life partners2

Physical and Behavioral Changes

  • Needing more extreme or novel content to achieve arousal (desensitization)2
  • Difficulty becoming aroused without pornography2
  • Engaging in risky or illegal behaviors to obtain pornography4
  • Lying or hiding porn use from others4

If several of these signs are present and pornography use is causing significant distress or impairment in daily functioning, it may indicate a pornography addiction that requires professional help.
